Friday 20th May, 8pm, free admission

The Sonic Lab - Sonic Arts Research CentreCloreen Park, Belfast

Lets Be Friends is an original live performance that tells the story of two people who have ended their relationships because of dissatisfaction, mistrust and infidelity.

John D’Arcy tells a story through a set of songs that chart a departure from ‘the one’ to a superficial single life - where it’s more important to meet anybody than somebody.

Catherine Treanor’s narrative is told through a series of short films that pick apart moments of despair in a gruelling year of a relationship – unfaithfulness, drugs and death.

If you think you can leave the past behind you must be out of your mind.

The performance takes place in the unique setting of the Sonic Lab*, situated in Queen’s University Belfast’s Sonic Arts Research Centre. This cutting edge facility boasts over sixty loudspeakers and is the only auditorium of its kind in the world.

John D’Arcy and Isobel Anderson at No Alibis

John D’Arcy and Isobel Anderson play their first show together on Saturday 18th December in No Alibis bookstore, Botanic Avenue, Belfast.

This will be John’s last show in 2010!  After many months of electric strumming with the Great Bunch Of Lads, John will be dusting off his acoustic guitar to rediscover a collection of his songs in his unique quirky style.

Isobel Anderson is originally from Brighton and has been capturing the attention of folk fans in Northern Ireland with her captivating voice and delicate songwriting.  Find out more about Isobel at http://www.isobelanderson.com .

Tickets from No Alibis Bookstore, Botanic Avenue, Belfast

Live Review: Casiotone support. 8/11/2010.

“It is a dark and stormy night – an appropriate beginning for an evening of storytelling; the reason this small but dedicated coterie has cause to gather upstairs in Auntie Annie’s.

We are a wet and somewhat miserable bunch, but sharply dressed local troubadour John D’Arcy appears onstage to alleviate our woe. The Great Bunch of Lads line up have the night off, so D’Arcy comes into his own with the more fragile offerings in this solo acoustic set, ‘Eyes On Her’ and ‘More Like Me’. These tender ballads showcase a natural affinity for capturing matters of the heart with clarity, wit and conviction; it’s what the Buddy Holly Doppelgänger does best and we’d like some more of it, please.”
